Signature Drinks: A How To

Signature drinks are no longer a new idea. By now most of us have heard of them or at least been to a party that had some.  Although they may not be a new idea, I think they are still a fun way to personalize your wedding and share something you really enjoy with your guests.  So, I wouldn’t worry as much about matching the color pallet as I would about finding something that tells the guests something about you.  I would try to mix something that is fairly universal but it is your day so drink what you want to! There are several ways to land upon the perfect signature drink for your wedding.  The Internet is full of recipes, that are delicous and fun to taste test! I would pick a drink that you both really like and jazz it up a bit or pick a liquor that you enjoy and use it to come up with a tasty concoction.  You can search Martha Stewart, or The Knot, which both have entire sections dedicated to signature drinks.  Pinterest is another great resource, but I warn you, looking through all of the pictures will make you thirsty!  I have an entire board dedicated to spirits so take a look and see what you find.  If you can’t find exactly what you want, there are companies that will work with you to create something unique, personalized, and most of all delicious!!  So get to tasting and have fun finding your perfect mix!! Don't Listen to Me

Seriously, I mean it: don’t listen to me, Brides Magazine, Martha Stewart, other bloggers, or any of the thirty wedding shows on right now.  Yes, we all have great ideas and there are things you can learn along the way but it’s your wedding.  Never do something just because someone tells you to.  No one can tell you what is important to you or what you think looks good.  No one can tell you how to have your wedding (not even Martha Stewart). So my advice today, don’t listen to me.  I have a lot of ideas on the blog and most of them won’t work for you.  None of them are for every wedding or every situation so ignore the ones that don’t work for you.  If something makes sense, then use it.  After all, that is what the blog is here for, to give inspiration to my brides.  But if the day’s post does not work for you or for your wedding then forget it and move on.   You will be bombarded with opinions from articles, TV shows and blog posts all saying a million different things.  If you use them all, your wedding will be one big hot mess.  No joke, it would be terrible!  So take in what you like and forget what you don’t in the end it’s all about you, the bride oh and your groom we need him too!
